The Shreveport Collection
Collectors refer to specimens like the one above as "Crazy Wood" because the vascular bundles seem to have an almost woven appearance. See the next slide and specimen below for longitudinal sections of regular fossil palm for comparison. Slide 28 in our gallery shows a cross-section of "Crazy Wood".
